Achalgarh was first constructed by the ruler of Paramara dynasty but later it was occupied by Maharana Kumbha, and he reconstructed the fort in 1452 and changed the name to Achalgarh Fort.
Not only historic connection, but this fort is also famous for its religious connection as there is Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple dedicated to lord Shiva. One brass idol of Nandi is also found nearby. In addition, few Jain temples are also found in the close proximity to the fort.
This Jain temples were built in 1513 few years later of constructing the fort.
Though the Achalgarh Fort in Mount Abu plays an important role in the history of Mount Abu, but it is now in ruins due to weather condition and sandstorm. It needs proper Maintenace to preserve the old history of Rajasthan.
