Arnala Fort, also known as Jaldurg or Janjire-Arnala is a beautiful fort located in Arnal Island, one of the best places to experience a one-day trek in Mumbai. It is situated on Arnala Island 12 km far from Vasai in Maharashtra, surrounded by the beautiful Arabian Sea. The fort was built by the Portuguese and used to control shipping and navigation along with the northern Konkan Coast. As the place located far away from the pinch points of Mumbai, it provides a serene ambiance and sweet sound of waves coming from the seashore. It was ruled by Portuguese, Britishers, and Marathas, now the fort is in disrepair condition.
