Jijamata Udyan also known as Byculla Zoo Formely called Rani Baug, earlier was known as Victoria Gardens and also one of the oldest public parks in Mumbai. Built-in 1861, by Britishers and named as Victoria Gardens, Spread over an area of 50 acres located in the heart of City in Byculla. The Zoo is the home of 350 species of living organisms, live in their separate enclosures. Dotted with beautiful palm trees and an all-around clean environment, the place is a hot favourite among tourists who want to spend a day away. Home of animals like lion, tiger, hyenas, crocodiles, elephants and variety of birds, but currently the most popular animal in the zoo is newly brought penguins, which are the first choice of many tourists to see. The ambiance of the zoo gives a unique touch of nature and full of sweet noisy birds.
