The untouched beauty of nature Panju Island located in the Vasai Creek in North Mumbai used to connect with the mainland of Vasai to Salsette Island through Western Railway Station. The place reflects the touch of modern living lifestyle along with ancient buildings, culture, mangrove forests, salt flats. The Island is the home of Panju village, easily accessible from Naigaon and Bhayandar, as the place is situated in the middle of them. Spread over 600 acres of land, the island has a population of more than 1500 people, who live in a matchbox like houses and congested colonies. Its narrow Labyrinth roads, fishing spots with many boats, salt farming, and agriculture describe the island. Island people mostly do salt farming, fishing, and other agriculture-related work, but the upcoming generation here is more enthusiastic to work on the mainlands of Mumbai.
