The pet project undertaken by Sri Swamiji is Bonsai Garden in Mysore. Situated in Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Ashrama, home to over more than 100 varieties of Bonsai trees, it is a famous attraction in Mysore. The small pet project of Swamiji now converted into a big garden that hosts nearly 450 miniature trees and spread over an area of 4 Acres. One beautiful stream flows through the middle of the garden and adds to the beauty. Besides, statues of Buddha and Monkey inside the complex also attract visitors. The Bonsai technique was evolved from the Zen culture. The Garden is divided into different divisions that represent Indian traditions, beliefs, and customs which are followed by Swamiji. The special attraction of the Garden is 100 years old tree placed in a beautiful terracotta pot in bonsai form, which is highly appreciable. In one division trees are placed in connection with India Zodiac system, 2nd division reflects Indian classical music, 3rd division showing 27 stars of traditional Indian astrology, 4th division tells the stories of Indian sages or Saptarishi, another division showcases the concept of mother Goddess. Walking through the Garden is very charming. If you visit the Bonsai Garden then you will be having no other way except to appreciate the art, technique, and energy used to devise the Bonsai Garden. There is a deer park that also an added attraction to nature and animal lovers. A convention for 3 days on the Bonsai technique is held here every December. Experts from all over the world come here to discuss Bonsai plants, techniques and share their experience with the counterparts of other countries.
