Brindavan Garden is just 20 km from Mysore. The Brindavan Garden was earlier known as Krishnarajendra Terrace Garden and is situated just below the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam.
It is named after Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and was built between 1927 and 1932 by Shri M. Visvesvaria. The garden is spread over 60 acres. The park is under the Cauvery Irrigation Department.
It is made up of three terraces which include water fountains, trees, flowerbeds, and flowering plants. The special attraction of this garden is a small show of water fountains swinging and dancing at the music hall in Musical Fountains.
From Monday to Friday, you can see beautiful furnishings in the park from 7 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 pm to 9 pm.
After dusk, the crowd gathers in the Brindavan Gardens to watch the dance of the water fountains in a rhythmically lit light and music. As the evening progresses towards night, water-colored fountains come alive to the tune of musical instruments. This scene is so amazing that it is as if tourists have reached the fairyland.
Boating can also be enjoyed in the pond situated in the middle of the garden.
Every year about 20-22 lakh tourists come to see it. This garden is open to the general public with a minimal entry fee.
