Namchi

Namchi is a peaceful, beautiful and hill station full of natural treasures located in the northeastern state of India, Sikkim, which provides every facility to the tourists visiting here.

It is the district headquarter of the district of South Sikkim. This hill station is situated at about 4314 meters above sea level. It is locally called Sky High. Situated just 92 km from Gangtok, this hilly destination offers a stunning view of Kanchenjunga.

In terms of folk culture, this place is the principal center of the state, where you will also get a glimpse of Nepali culture. The weather here is not very hot. The temperature here goes up to 22 degrees from March to June.

The monsoon season from July to September is famous for its dense fog. During winter, the temperature here goes down to 4 degree Celcius. The spring and autumn season is considered to be the perfect time to experience wildlife here.

Places to visit in Namchi - Namchi is a famous pilgrimage site with Buddhist culture. Here you can see many important areas related to Buddhism. Namchi Math is the most famous holy place here, where tourists come from far and wide for spiritual and mental peace. This famous monastery is situated on a hill with Ralong Monastery and Tedong Hill.

Apart from the monasteries, you can also see the 118 feet tall statue of the spiritual Guru Saint Guru Rinpoche in the sights. It is a famous spiritual place, which is considered to be the foremost faith center for the people of Sikkim. This giant statue is situated on the hill from Sandarupat. It is a sacred hill that is called a wish-fulfilling hill.

In addition, you can visit the famous Siddheshwar Dham here, where the giant 108 feet statue of Lord Shiva is the main attraction. You can enjoy here the natural beauty, the green tea gardens here are very much liked by the tourists.

Best time to visit - You can come to Namchi at any time of the year. However, due to the height, the best time to visit Namchi is from March to October.

Namchi is a famous place where you can easily reach from all three routes. The best way to travel here is by road. The city is well connected to Sikkim and West Bengal. Here you can spend a pleasant time from expensive to cheap hotels for tourists.
