Char Dham is situated at Solophok hill, 5 km away from Namchi town. It is a holy temple which is also known as Siddheshwar Dham, and it is also a famous vacation spot of South Sikkim.
This temple is the replica of 12 Jyotirlingas and Char Dhams of India built at the top of Solophok hill. There is a giant statue of Lord Shiva, which has a height of 108 feet. And the idol is encircled and supported by a girdle of twelve Jyotirlingams which are the replicas of Dwadashi Jyotirlingas, namely Somnath, Mallikarjuna, Mahakalshwar, Omkareshwar, Kedarnath, Bhimashankar, Viswanath, Vaidyanath, Nageswar, Triambakeshwar, Grishneshwar, and Rameshwar.
The four shrines of Char Dham are dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Lord Jagannath, and lord Krishna.
According to Hindu mythology, worshipping Lord Shiva and the Jyotirlings help people in gaining enlightenment. It believed that if a person visits this temple, their sins will be washed off. By visiting this temple, a person can attain a heightened solace.
The temple is surrounded by alluring natural beauty and spectacular mountains.
It only takes two hours to drive from the Gangtok capital of Sikkim to reach Char Dham.
It is one of those places where you will find serenity. Along with worshiping, there is one more fascinating thing that you can do, inside the temple premises you can hire traditional costumes and get your pictures clicked by the local photographers.
There is a vegetarian eatery and a parking zone attached to the temple. This place is a magnificent place to visit.
