Samdruptse Hill

Samdruptse Hill, also called the wish-fulfilling hill, is only 5 km away from Namchi. It is situated at an altitude of 2134 m.

This hill is adorned by the tallest statue of Guru Padma Sambhava in the world. He is also known as the guardian saint of Sikkim. The height of the idol is 135 ft.

The hill also offers a view of Mt. Kanchenjunga amongst the richly forested hills under the blue sky.

It is also said that the hill is a volcano that is in the dormancy state, and only prayers can hold it from erupting, so the local monks offer their devotion and reverence to it.

You can see a profound collection of historical photographs of Sikkim. And the fading photos of Mahatma Gandhi in the repository within the premises of the statue. And this is quite interesting for people who love history also the view from the hill is breathtaking.

It is believed that if you visit Samduptse hill, your wish will get fulfilled. The statue of Guru Padma Sambhava is one of the examples of incredible engineering skills. It took almost seven years to complete the construction of the idol.

In the year 1997, Dalai Lama laid the foundation stone for this statue. This place is one of those places where you can find peace.
