Anjaneri Mountain is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Name of the mother of Hanuman was Anjana, from Anjana the name of the hill derived.
It is believed that at the top of the hill there is a cave where Mata Anjana gave birth to Hanuman.
For reaching Anjaneri Mountain you have to trek for 10 km from a place near Trambakeshwar. The trekking route is picturesque and definitely you will enjoy the natural beauty of the place.
Moreover, you will be able to visit other attractions like Mata Anjani Temple, the place where Mata Anjani meditated to get a child, finally Lord Shiva appeared in front of her and blessed a boon.
There are two pindies inside the temple, big one is for Mata Anjani and the small one is for Bal Hanuman. On the way, there is a cave, nearly 1000 years old and having decorated inscriptions.
For reaching to the Anjaneri hill, people have to take bus from Nashik to Trambakeshwar and drop 4 km before Trambakeshwar, from where you have to start walking, after 5 km, main trekking route of the Anjaneri hills start.
