The National Gallery of Modern Art or NGMA Museum in short is situated in Jaipur House near India Gate towards the eastern end of Raj path in Central New Delhi and hence easily approachable from all the corners of Delhi via local transport and Central Secretariat as the nearest Metro Station.
The National Gallery of Modern Art boasts a unique collection of paintings, sculptures, graphics and photographs mainly by Indian and some by international modern artists. You can find the works of Thomas Daniell. Rabindranath Tagore, Gaganendranath Tagore, Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore, Jamini Roy and Amrita Sher-Gil in the galleries at National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA).
The NGMA Museum also displays a wide range of art works done by native artists during the 19th Century and early 20th Century and a few works showcasing exotic Indian scenes and portraits that add a traditional flamboyance to the gallery of artists who visited India between the 18th Century and 19th Century from Europe and Far Eastern countries.
The National Gallery of Modern Arts also has a Library that homes a collection of books, photographs and other audio and visual items available for reference, listening, watching and reading purposes. Postcards, Pictures, Posters, Catalogues and many other items are also available at the Museum Sales division for purchase.
The museum is opened from 1000 hours to 1700 hours on all days except all Mondays and Gazetted Holidays.
