Originally it was the name of a historic ghat of Old Delhi. Located on the banks of the river Yamuna, Raj Ghat is a memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. It also grounds associated memorials of Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sanjay Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Jagjivan Ram, Choudhary Charan Singh, Giani Zail Singh, Shankar Dayal Sharma, Chandra Shekhar, I.K.
