The only untouched and virgin lake of the Nilgiri mountain ranges, about 20-22 Km away from the main city of Ooty is serene Emerald Lake. The lake is situated in the Emerald village of Ooty and from where the name of the lake derives. It is a part of Silent Valley National Park in the Nilgiri Mountain ranges. Away from the hustle, bustle, pollution and maddening crowd of the busy city, the location is silent, serene and the cleanliness of the lake offers a perfect place to spend leisure time. The water of the lake is blue in color and crystal clear water amongst the Greeneries gives it an awesome view.
