Ooty flower show is the major event of the Ooty Summer festival organized by the Department of Horticulture and plantation Crop under the Tamilnadu Government. The flower show was started in the year 1896 and running for the last 123 years. This show is a 2-day event with competitions and cultural events. Every year around 250 exhibitors attend and exhibit their flowers to more than 1,00,000 visitors. The variety of potted plants and flowers are the major attractions of the show. This show gathered more than 3 lakh visitors in the year 2018. A large variety of indigenous and exotic species of flowers are displayed here. Elaborate arrangements are added to the beauty of the floral exhibits and serve as a visual treat to gardening aficionados. A competition for Gardeners also organized here every year. Some of the beautiful flowers exhibited are Carnation, Gerberas, Liliums, Alstroemeria, Tulips Iris, Asters Antirrhinum, and Begonia Balsam. The show organised in the popular Ooty Botanical Garden.
