Orchha Fort, located in the Tikamgarh district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the most beautiful forts in India, which is famous not only for its artwork but also for its serene atmosphere all over the world. It is situated near the Betwa river, just 15 km from Jhansi.
The Orchha Fort complex, houses a large number of ancient monuments. It was built by Raja Rudra Pratap Singh in the year 1501. Both the Raj Palace and Ram mandir are present inside this fort, which was established by Raja Madhukar Singh and situated in the premises of this fort, the Sheesh Mahal, connected to the other two citadels.
It was the site of a royal residence built for King Udit Singh, also known as the Palace of Mirror. It is so unusual that people do not take their eyes off. The most famous of the fort is the Jahangir Mahal which was built in the year 1605 by Bir Singh Deo for the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, who had come as the king's guest for only one night, which is seen as an example of friendship.
The most beautiful place of this fort is its Phool Bagh. Which is a very well-maintained garden, in which there is a line of water fountains which ends in the palace pavilion, which is also has eight pillars.
Below this garden is an underground structure that used by the royalty as a cold summer retreat.
