The Chauragarh Temple is situated on the summit of Chauragarh between the Veranda Valley and the Aviral Forests of Madhya Pradesh at an altitude of 4,200 feet above sea level.
It is one of the most famous temples of Pachmarhi, and this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
You can see a beautiful view of the valleys of the surrounding forests, and sunrise can also seen from here. To reach the Chauragarh Shiva temple, the devotees have to climb up about 1300 steps, which plays a chief role in its attraction.
Chauragarh Temple is known for the thousands of Trishuls present here, that have been offered by the devotees for years, behind which there is also a belief attached to it.
A fair and Mahabhishek are organized every year during Mahashivratri, which attracts a large number of devotees.
