The Muslim saint Makhdoom Shah was buried here in 1616 and, since then, it is a famous and sacred dargah for Muslims in Patna and adjoining areas. There is also a large tank in front of the mausoleum. In 1619 a mosque was also built by Ibrahim Khan in this complex.

This dargah is 400 years old, and currently, this mosque is under the patronage of Indian Archeology Department.
