Five Sikhs have a special place and importance in Sikhism. With the consent of these five boards, all major decisions related to Sikhism are taken and implemented. Shri Patna Sahib is one of these five boards. It has ranked as the second holiest table in the Sikhs.

This gurudwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji, like other gurudwaras. Even today, all those things were in the time of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Gurdwara Sahib. The well which Mata Gujri Ji used to fill water is still here.

Even today, in this Gurudwara, the small saber of Guru Gobind Singh Ji which he wore in his childhood days, the comb which Guru Ji used in his hair is here. The wooden stands of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib are also kept here.
