Established on 1869 Mount Harriet National Park was a reserve forest and converted in to a national park in the year 1979, It encompasses an area of 4662 hectares, it will be extended to add an additional area of 1700 hectares to include adjoining mountain ranges and the marine eco system on the eastern coast.
Trekking inside the park is attractive since you may see animals, beautiful butterflies flying around, Sea elephants, and you will pass through an attractive beach.
The Negrito people, the hunter gatherers, indegineous tribal community of the area can be seen here.
The flora and fauna is spectacular.
