It is believed that it was under a tank, where Lord Shiva was sitting hidden in fear of Shani Dev.People believe that the Linga of the temple established by Lord Ramchandra. The natural spring flowing near the Parvati tank ensures that the water contained in this small square-shaped container always filled. One night before Shivaratri, on the day of Pankadhar Ekadashi when all the water is drained out, devotees can worship the linga. Beliefs are there that the divine grace of Lord Loknath takes away all the pain and suffering of the devotees. It is also thought that people suffering from various fatal diseases got cured by prayer in this temple.
