Parmarth Niketan is the largest ashram in Rishikesh with 1000 rooms for pilgrims to stay. Apart from the facilities of the stay, Paramarth Niketan also deals with Ayurvedic and Music. It is situated on the banks of river Ganges amidst the great Himalayas. This ashram was established in 1942 by the great saint worshiper Swami Sukhdevanandji Maharaj. Since 1986, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj is the President and Spiritual Head of Parmarth Niketan. Parmarth Niketan Ashram is built for orphans and poor children. In this ashram, children are given traditional education as well as Vedas. Every year when the International Yoga Festival is organized here, a large number of tourists come here. People come to this ashram in large numbers to learn yoga, meditation, and other arts. A school is located on the campus of the ashram. Ganga Aarti of Parmarth Niketan is famous. It is a wonderful experience to see the shimmering lights of thousands of lamps amid the cold flowing air. Parmarth Niketan is open to all visitors, with no discrimination based on race, caste or creed.
