The Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh, located at the foot of the Himalayan mountains in the Garhwal division of Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, is one of the major tourist destinations. It is a belief that those who take a dip in the water at Triveni Ghat washes away all the sins and purifies the soul and will have salvation, a relief from all sins carried out, the water at Triveni Ghat has the power to purify them. This place is a major bathing ghat in Rishikesh, where many devotees take a dip in the holy Ganges river since morning. It is said about Triveni Ghat that on this Ghat there is a confluence of three major rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. At one end of the Triveni Ghat, there is a beautiful statue of the Ganga originating from the Jata of Shiva, while on the other side there is a beautiful statue of Shri Krishna giving Gita knowledge to Arjuna and a huge Ganga temple. Thousands of pilgrims gather at the ghat during the evening for the Mahaarti. Pilgrims keep flowers and lamps in reverence and flow in the river. It is very soothing to sit on the banks of the river and enjoy the cool breeze from the river.
