Silchar is the district headquarters of Cachar district located in South Assam and it is a quintessential small and beautiful city. The city is surrounded by the Barak River from all sides that adds to the beauty of the place.
The Barak River flows through this region, forming Silchar and some other nearby towns and villages commonly referred to as the Barak Valley. Geographically, Silchar is strategically located, connecting the states of Manipur and Mizoram with other parts of the country. For this reason, it is an economically vibrant city.
