Bhubaneshwar Temple is one of the most famous temples of South Assam, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is situated on the top of Bhuvan hills in the Cachar district near Silchar and attracts pilgrims from far and wide. The temple is located at a distance of about 50 km from Silchar.
During the festival of Shivratri, thousands of Shivayats climb the hill towards the Bhubaneswar Temple. There is a large crowd of devotees here on the night of Shivratri. There is no motorable road to reach the top of the hill.
A distance of at least 17 km has to be covered from the plains to the temple. The best time to visit is during the time of Maha Shivratri when the temple is crowded with devotees.
