Sonamarg

Sonamarg is a beautiful and adventurous place for the traveler who loves to explore with a fearless mind.

The literal meaning of this place is the meadow of gold because of the fact in spring season the mountains are covered by the golden flowers which make it look golden and it's all nature painted.

Inherited by different places which are beautiful in itself which consist of sky-touching mountain peaks, lakes, passes, and glaciers. As all the important routes start from here, trekking is a prime activity of this site that acts as a huge crowd puller.

Backpackers visiting here from all around the world. Krishnasar lake is located a few kilometers away from Sonamarg. The lake is dedicated for trout fish conservation.

One can enjoy trout fishing in the lake, wintertime is suggested for fishing. 

Trekkers can have a great and adventurous experience here. Trekkers can also go up to Leh, the stark but enchanting rooftop of the world, by crossing the Zoji La Pass.

The best time to visit is from April to October. In July and August a large number of devotees come here for a darshan of Amarnath Shrine.
