Tendong Hill situated Namchi South Sikkim at an altitude of 8530 feet above sea level is also a dormant volcano. Tendong is a travel destination too. According to mythology, when this place was drowned in the flood, to protect the people, the shape of horns was formed on this hill. That is why it got the name Tendong, which means in the local language, the hills on which the figures of horns made. Tendong Hill is one of the places where lamas used to do penance. This hill is also a famous trekking spot for Sikkim. By trekking 6 km on the hill, you will reach the dense forests, which are very rich in fauna and flora. The lush greenery of the place enchants tourists. Darjeeling and some parts of the plains of West Bengal are visible from this hill. March to June is the best month to visit Todong Hill.
