Sela Tawang Trek is one of the most popular treks in Arunachal Pradesh on the edge of the Himalayan mountains. The trek follows the old Buddhist route through Monpa village, which is dotted with beautiful monasteries, gorges, and gem walls.
The trek is done in stages, covering the long distance to Tawang with sensible road support options in between. Tawang Monastery, at 3050 m, dominates the skyline like the largest medieval fort in India.
Similar to the Khinmay Monastery, the Sang Rybageling Temple is also nearby.
The motorable road leads to Tawang, which was constructed in 1962 after the war with China, still used by Buddhist monks as they travel from one hamlet and monastery to another.
The trail and winds pass through lush valleys of rhododendrons, oaks, and cedars. There is no water problem on this trek as you will find streams everywhere.
It is a land where Buddhism is alive, actual, and live in all its colors.
Trek takes you back in time to another world of unmatched beauty. Sela lake, Nunarang river, and the stunning beauty around the entire trek will be a beautiful experience for all trek lovers.
