Bherjan Borjan Padumoni wildlife sanctuary is a small wildlife sanctuary situated in the Tinsukia district of Assam. This wildlife sanctuary spread across an area of 7.22 km. This sanctuary comprises three separate forests, namely Bherjan, Borajan, and Padumoni, it covers three blocks in the district.
Many rare and endangered animals and birds are found here. This sanctuary is rich in wildlife. This sanctuary plays a prime role in the conservation of wildlife, trees, and plants.
This place is a treat for bird watchers, there are more than 84 species of birds, including Osprey, Indian Pied Hornbill, Kingfisher, Woodpecker, Lined Barbet, Common Myna, Drongo, Bulbul, Magpie Robin, Wagtail, and many more varieties of woodland birds.
Along with these birds, some of the mammals found here are Assamese Macaques, Slow loris, Pig-tailed macaque, Rhesus macaque, Capped langur, Stump-tailed macaque, and Hoolock Gibbon. A few Leopards, wild Pigs, and giant flying Squirrels are also found here.
