Dibru Saikhowa National Park is also a Biosphere Reserve. It is situated on the south bank of the river Brahmaputra in the Tinsukia district of Assam. This national park is spread over an area of 340 sq. km, and it is among the most vibrant wild on earth. And this place is also known for its pristine scenic beauty.
It houses many rare and endangered species of wildlife. It is one of those places which boast a rich collection of flora and fauna, and it is a river island national park and one of the 19 biodiversity hotspots in the world. This place is mainly covered with grasslands and dense forests. The forest type of Dibru Saikhowa comprises semi-evergreen forests, deciduous forests, littoral and swamp forest, and patches of evergreen forests.
This place is famous for Feral horses. There are more than 36 species of mammals and 400 species of birds. At this place, you can see animals like a tiger, elephant, leopard, Jungle Cat, Bears, small Indian Civet, langur, barking deer, horses, and many more. You can also see many different varieties of local as well as migratory birds.
Some of the birds that are commonly found at Dibru Saikhowa National Park are Greater Adjustant Stork, Lesser Adjustant Stork, Greater Crested Grebe, Large Cormorant, Open Bill Stork, Griffon Vulture, Spot-billed Pelican, White-winged Wood Duck, etc.
