The Digboi Oil Centenary Museum is located in the oil town of Digboi and marks the first discovery of oil in Assam. The museum was inaugurated by the Assam Oil Corporation in the year 2002. Oil-related machines and pumps are preserved and displayed in the museum. Appliance related to powerhouses, oil refineries, and oil wells kept in the museum.
The museum has a large hall where many distinctive paintings are on display. These pictures are displayed here to take you on the long journey of the development of oil refineries in the history of India. It shows how Digboi earned its place on the world map.
This museum is the only one of its kind in India. Here you can get information about the history of oil production in Assam and other facts related to oil and gas. This center also provides current information about oil technology.
