An attractive and famous place, a large number of Hindu shrines, Golden habitat of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy, situated in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh is Tirupati.

It is a city covered with lush green vegetation and small hills. Tiru means Shri(Lakshmi) and Pati denotes husband. So, Tirupati means Shri Lakshmi's husband, Vishnu.

The most famous and popular temple is Tirupati Balaji Temple or Venkateshwara Swamy Temple located on one of the 7 peaks of Tirumala Hills. It is considered to be one of the holiest sites of Hindu devotees. According to a legend, Lord Vishnu assumed the form of Sri Venkateshwara to save mankind from the adversities of Kali Yuga.
