Chinese Temple

Lord Gautam Buddha gave the first sermon at Sarnath in Varanasi. Here a temple has been built by Chinese artisans in 1939 by Sriutli Chun Sang, a resident of Fukien, China. Sarnath in Varanasi has three different sculptures of Gautama Buddha, built in the Chinese and Thai styles. The temple is spread over several acres. The stone used to make the statues was sourced from China and Myanmar. It was carved by Chinese artisans in the Brusni art style. When the construction started, the Chinese monks living all over the world donated money. There is a statue of Lord Buddha in the middle of its large hall. The main gate and the entire boundary of the temple were built in the year 1952 by Chinese devotees. Temple houses beautiful Hazara lights lamps and paintings of China's five major religious gurus Moji, Mensi, Lolaoji, Confucius, Jwangji. So whenever you visit Varanasi you must visit the Chinese temple.
