Ganga Aarti

Though all the Ghats in Varanasi have their own story. Kashi's Dasaswamedh Ghat is the most ancient and magnificent ghat of all the Ghats situated on the banks of river Ganges.

Its history is thousands of years old. Dasaswamedh means the sacrifice of ten horses.

According to legends, Lord Brahma organized a Yagya here to recall Lord Shiva from exile. Due to this, every evening there is an aarti of the Mother Ganga, so once Banaras awakens again in the evening.

Ganga Aarti takes place every evening at Dasaswamedh Ghat in Kashi, the city of Shiva. This Aarti of Maa Ganga has a different kind of charm. Listening to the mantras, the sound of bells, the buzzing of the drums, it seems that it is purifying your hair follicles and you will be lost in the sound of Aarti with a tuck.

The Ganga Aarti begins with Mantra chants on ghats and hawans with lit lamps in the Ganges. Greeting mother Ganga and expressing gratitude. Tourists flock to these ghats of Banaras from across the seven seas to witness the grand Ganga Aarti.
