Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, situated south of the city is a very lovely and miraculous temple of Balaji. According to the name, this temple is going to remove the distress of its devotees.It is believed that this temple was established where Mahakavi Tulsidas had the dream of Hanuman for the first time. The Sankat Mochan Temple was founded by the poet Tulsidas. He was the author of the Ramacharitmanas, the Awadhi version of the Ramayana composed by Valmiki. Traditions are said to be that Lord Hanuman has special blessings on regular visitors to the temple. Every Tuesday and Saturday, thousands of people stand in a queue to offer prayers to Lord Hanuman.
