Tibetan Temple

The peaceful and traditional Tibetan Buddhist Monastery is a lovely, bright space located close to the main market area in Sarnath.

Constructed with a traditional Tibetan architectural design, the temple houses a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha or Buddha in resting position. Famous for its Thangka or Tibetan Buddhist paintings, and frescoes, the Tibetan Temple showcases many of these on the walls and ceilings. The Prayer Wheels are seen outside the building which on being turned clockwise, discharge paper looks with petitions composed on them.
