Kalpetta

Kalpetta is a small town situated in the lap of Wayanad at 780 meters above sea level. The city is famous for coffee plantations and surrounded by beautiful mountains on every side.

It is nice place for nature-lover and devotees because there are quiet and beautiful temples. This place can also be called a Hindu pilgrimage site, as many famous temples and shrines are built here. The famous temples are the Gramam Devi Temple, Sri Mahavishnu Temple, and Ayyapa Swamy Temple. Apart from this, Kalpetta also has many Jain temples like the Puliyamala Jain temple and is considered to be the oldest of these.

Apart from these temples, Kalpetta has a 300-year old Varamavetta Mosque. There are many places to visit in Kalpetta like Meenmutty, Shuchipara, and Kanthapara among the flowing waterfalls here.

Apart from tourist spots in Kalpetta, the climate here is very favorable throughout the year but the best time to visit here is during the winter.
