Thrissilery Shiva Temple is a famous and oldest pilgrimage center situated in the hills of Wayanad district of Kerala. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and it is 19-km away from the Lord Vishnu temple in Thirunelli.

It is believed that ancestral rituals in Thirunelli remain incomplete until you visit the Thrissilery temple. The temple of Jala Durga is also installed in this temple. It situated on a water tank that originates from the Papanasini river, and the water of this tank never dries up.

Being a Shiva temple, the main festival here is Maha Shiva night. Mondays are considered to be the day of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, so devotees come to worship on this day in large numbers.

The best time to visit is anytime in winter or at the time of Mahashivratri comes between February-March.
