Meghna Cave Temple

Located at a height of 300 feet from the sea level in Daporjio, amidst the beautiful valley of Ziro, 5000 years old, a must-visit tourist attraction in Arunachal Pradesh is Meghna Cave Temple. It is dedicated to Lord Lakulisha who was the 28th embodiment of lord Shiva. A graceful place to visit for worship. Some detailed carvings of Sanskrit scriptures with magnificent and great architecture are found here. This Ancient cave temple was rediscovered in 1962. It is a rock-cut cave temple with two tunnels, one allows a single person to enter, and the other appears to be an extension of the cave. The interior of the tunnel gradually becomes darker and narrower. This vacationers spot also gives an extraordinary perspective of the encompassing mountains, thick evergreen woods, and swiftly flowing rivers. A grand festival is arranged here on Maha Shivratri during February.
