Located 32 km from Ziro towards the northeast, Talley Valley Reserved Forest and Wildlife sanctuary was established in 1995 and is situated in Arunachal Pradesh. This protected area of 337 sq. km and comprises a great variety of flora and fauna. Mammal species include Clouded leopard, Malayan giant squirrel, Indian muntjac, and Asian palm civet. The 130 bird species observed in spring include Black Eagle, Collared Owlet, Golden-Breasted Fulvetta, Scarlet Minivet, Verditer Flycatcher, etc. Talley Valley harbors subtropical, broadleaved, and conifer forests which are a plateau with a dense forest of silver fir trees, alpine clad, and a vast wasteland. The rivers like Pange, Sipu, Karing, and Subansiri are flowing through the Reserved Forest and Sanctuary. The Pange Camp which is 7 km from Manpolyang is the gateway to the sanctuary. The breath-taking scenario of the pristine vegetation and primeval mountain of Talley Valley provides a proper room for those who love trekking.
