Kashmir Great Lakes is one of the most beautiful treks in India. No question, it validates Kashmir's mythical status as heaven on earth with wild, rugged mountains, rolling meadows including turquoise alpine lakes.
Each day you can enjoy just perfect lakes surrounded by snow-capped mountains making it more beautiful. The alpine lakes are extremely beautiful. However, out of these alpine lakes, Gadsar may be the most untouched of the lot.
The thundering silence of the Kashmir lakes and their virgin beauty is spellbound. As a trek, you need great physical fitness to work on your health and prepare yourself before arriving here.
Trailing within the Maple trees uphill, trekkers can enjoy the crystal clear view of the nearby villages downhill and especially the Sonamarg village. Massively tiny brooks struggling through the meadows and snowy peaks of small mountains mark the land of Shekdur.
Shekdur is the only campsite with trees on this trek. The trek to the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek will provide the trekkers with a perfect flavor of all hues of terrain- innumerable meadows, snow-clad glaciers, and pinnacles, passes, rocky barren lands, struggling streams.
It's an extraordinary experience you can only feel that by visiting here.
